I have been having a hard time finishing just a poem. Those loose papers at home contain mostly just fragments, which are all first lines to each new unfinished poem. I keep writing only to stop and start anew. I have quite a number and am still counting. A lot of things are going on in mind, racing which one gets written first. I certainly can’t come up with a poem, not when I’m like an overloaded car running uphill. It’s frustrating at times. Those great feedback on submissions I received just recently have helped keep the momentum. And there’s this one response that truly made my day. My poem, “Sylvia Plath”, will soon be published in print! Yes, it’ll be in print this time. Thanks to Scissors and Spackle! It’ll be out by 2014.

  1. Congratulations Gheeneil! πŸ™‚ The first part of struggling with overwhelming thoughts and producing poems and not finishing them, moving on to other feels so familiar. While the 2nd part, that you scored on a print. This sounds wonderful. Congratulations! You deserve it. πŸ™‚ Keep rocking!

  2. It does uplift an emerging writer’s drooping spirit when even a word gets so elusive at times. This keeps the equilibrium. Thanks for your encouraging words, Ali! πŸ™‚
