366TH SUNSET

A peek from the east
Stripped the beauty naked:
A breakfast served for famished eyes—
Sight caressing freedom.

As leaves munched on streaks,
Envy trickled like The Niagara,
And the hoarse voice of longing
Escaped through dead echoes.

Such wish, which stood next to December air,
Reached a listening ear, and the light,
That was stuck along sunbeams
Flushed down through strayed rays.

With illumination almost gone now,
The day had just begun on the 366th sunset’s waking.
And the glow would soon cloud the mind.
Thoughts savoring freedom.
